Kuala Lumpur, A Concrete Jungle

Hello people, I’m back from my trip and it is time to write about it.  As per my last blog Yin and Yang we had added KL as a new destination and we were ready for the one-day transit tour of KL.

The flight from Hyderabad to KL was one of the worst flights that I ever had.  There were noisy people and very less leg space.  But, reaching KL meant finally I was vacationing and that was lovely.  We landed at KLIA2 and took the fast train to the city.  I was told that the train route will be very scenic which I would like to disagree.  Take the bus or taxi if you have time to spare when you’re in KL.

After reaching the city we got onto the tour bus which was just about to leave when we reached.  The bus was great to say the least.

The first stop of the bus was “Istana Negara” or the Royal Palace.  It is the place where the Sultan of Malaysia lives.  We were only allowed to see the place from outside and click pictures.  One fun thing that happened here was, there are two guards outside the palace who sit on their horse backs and stay still.  However, the horse that an animal it is cannot control the nature’s call.  Just when we went to take pictures with the guard, the horse peed. I’m not sure if you find this funny or not, but if you were there, you would have found this hysterical.

Next stop was the Merdeka Square, the place where the Union flag was lowered and Malaysian flag was hoisted for the first time in 1957.

Now the sun was being unbearable so we decided to see most of the things from the comfort of our bus itself.  After few attractions we were at the most famous building of Malaysia, The Petronas Twin Towers.

The towers looked majestic and one can see why they are one of the most advertised tourist destinations.

It was now time for us to head back to the airport for our next flight to Bali.  While heading back we grabbed a sub because we were not really sure what else to eat 😀 and headed back to the airport by the same train in which we came.

So, in the end the one day tour was worth the pain that we endured in the hot sun as we saw some great places.  Also, we got to know how diverse KL is.  It is “Truly Asia”.

My next post will be about Bali, Indonesia and my time over there. Till then,

Selamat tinggal…
